Back Home

Well, I just spent three really good weeks in Florida with my sister Alisha and her family. It was really good getting to spend time with her and getting to know her all over again. While I was there, we went to the beach, we went swimming, played games, talked, and took some walks together.
After those three weeks together in Florida, her and her parents and brother and me and my parents all went to Mississippi to go to court. Alisha and her mom and I all had to testify against my and Alisha's biological father. The court date was July 1st and 2nd. The first day we just picked the jury. The second day my Aunt Patty, a couple other people, and Alisha and I testified. Not long after Alisha testified, Michael (my biological father) decided to plead guilty. This was a big shock to us all. We were all able to be in the court room when he pleaded guilty and then he was handcuffed and sent to jail. We don't know what his sentence in prison will be yet, but we will find out in a couple of weeks. That day was one of the hardest days I have ever had and I don't think I would have been able to get through it without God and all my family and friends there with me.
I am really praying that Michael will come to know Christ as his Savior while he is in prison. I am glad to know that him being in prison will help him to stop drinking so that he can live longer, that he will no longer be able to hurt anyone else, and that he will get excellent health care.
It is so nice to be back home now. I am excited to start studying for my Ged, take my Ged tests, register for college, go to Alaska and Oregon, and then start college. I am super excited about starting college this Fall. I can't wait to find out all that God has planned for me in the next few years in my life!

Back In the States

Well, I have been back in the states for a couple of weeks now. It has been great to see all my family and friends again! I did not stay at home very long though before I left again. I am now in Florida with my sister Alisha and am having a great time with her and her family. I was only suposed to stay with her for two weeks, but I am probably going to be staying with her for about three weeks now because on the first of June we have to go to court and testify against our biological father. Both of us are looking forward to it, but we are leaving it in God's hands and knowing that He will take care of us. I will be glad when it is finally all over. I am glad that this is giving me another week with my sister though.

Tonight I went to my first Wednesday night service in a long time with my sister Alisha. It was really good. It was fun to meet all of her friends and get to know them a little bit. Also, at the same time, I felt kinda awkward being there because I dressed differently then them, I used a different Bible than them, I never went up to the altar and prayed during prayer time, and the church was just super small. After church, I talked with the pastor for a long time. One of the first questions he asked me, after "how old are you?" and "where are you from?", was "are you saved?"...then we talked a little about how each of us became saved. Soon after that we all went home. Friday night they are having a game night at the church so they can all get to know me a little better. They were all so excited to meet Alisha little sister (me).

Well, I need to get to bed now so I can get up early with Alisha tomorrow. She has to get up really early in the morning to get Lil' Bobby of to school and to start her chores. Good night!!

My First Experience Driving in Mexico!!

The other day I had my first experience driving in a different country. It was really fun. I was so excited to get to drive, not b/c it would give me the experience of driving in another country, but b/c I hadn't driven since January and I love driving and missed it a lot.
It was also probably the most careful I've ever driven too. I guess it was because I was driving someone elses car and because it was a new place for me to be driving in.
Overall it was a great experience and fun to drive again after two months!

Excited For This Next Week!

I am really looking forward to this Friday. This Friday, the Dunn's are taking off for McAllen, Tx for a week and I will get to spend that time here with my friends Susi and Yolita. They will be on Spring Break, so I am not sure what the week will look like. I am hoping to get some study time in while I am there. I am really way behind on my studies and need to work harder to catch up on them. I am excited to spend time with my friends, practice my Spanish with them, help them with their English, sleep in, and to get more study time in.

Tomorrow, we are going to drop some meat and cookies of at the Casa Hogar (the name of the Orphanage), and then go home. The rest of the day we will probably be packing. The kids are pretty cute; they are really excited to see their grandparents in McAllen. They will probably be leaving at a litte after noon on Friday and I still need to talk to Susi about how and when I will get to her house that day; maybe I can do that tomorrow:)

My Time Here In Mexico

I am really enjoying my time here in Mexico. I have really learned a lot since I've been here. I have learned a lot of spanish, a lot about myself, and a lot about taking care of children.

I go to my friends house every weekend and they help me with my spanish and I help them with their english. I have really enjoyed staying with them and getting to know them.

The things I have learned about myself are some of my weaknesses in life (patience, serving others, taking time out of my day to spend with God, staying up to late and having a hard to time waking up the next morning because of it).

Going to church, spending time with my friends, and listening to and reading things in spanish has really helped me to learn my spanish. It is by no means very good, but it is coming along. I have found it to be really fun learning a new language.

Prayer Requests:

1) That I would be faithful in reading my Bible, praying, and having a devotional every day.

2) That I would discipline myself more and go to bed earlier so that I could wake up more easily in the morning and be ready on time to go downstairs and help Aimee out with kids.

3) For me to listen more to godly counsel that my friends and family give me.

4) For to have patience and not get frustrated with the kids when I am having a hard day with them.

Thank you all for your prayers!
